Serial: a story or play appearing in regular installments on television or radio or in a periodical.

Surreal: Unearthly, Dreamlike

Reality: the state of things as they actually exist

I love to play with words, as my family, especially my grandchildren, know all too well. I see that it has been almost a year since I last generated an installment here. But annual installments are not the stuff of blogging reality. I M sure many of my followers have sought INSTANT gratification elsewhere.

Nevertheless, I shall PRESS on. I am an interrupt driven serial processor in a world of alleged Multi-Taskers, because I don’t believe humans can effectively focus on more than one task at a time. If this is not true, then it supports my theory that I am not of this earth.

Each day I awake and examine the possibilities of the days “work”.
I determine, what 3 things require my focus and attention and write them down. I then perform my startup routine, to ensure all of my features and functionality are operational ready, ensuring those features and functions that will be needed for the day’s tasks get the attention they need.

I then face the realities of the day. Verbal and written messages, moving and still images, all seek an audience with some part of my mind. What if one of these needs to displace the previously set tri-focus priorities?
Must each be serially accommodated? Consider the source. But the source on the ringing phone is unknown. I must answer. AHHHH…spammer.
What was I working on? Ah yes, how to avoid spam calls…No..FOCUS!
It’s ringing again.

I have always felt that technology needs to supply us with things that will improve our lives. Like, where is the robot that will clean the bathroom?
Weed the garden? Do the laundry then press and fold and hang up?
Instead technology has primarily just given us more interruptions.
I used to be able to call a human being and tell them my problem with my
insurance, my bank account, my cable connection…Now I must “solve” my problems myself by pressing 1,2,3,4,5,6 over and over again until I give up or arrive at a recording that tells me what I already know OR get to a human being who says, “I don’t know about that, let me transfer you to another bot and here’s the number in case you get disconnected”

FOCUS…FOCUS! So here’s my plan. I am hiring a bot to screen my calls, answer when appropriate and send me a message when the source is legitimate. The phone will stop ringing altogether. My bot will deal with their incoming bots and MAYBE I can, once again, create installments once or twice a week instead of annually.

HMMM…Now if I can just find a bot that will make the outgoing calls as well…FOCUS!
